BackgroundWilliam George Fuell and his wife Anne (née Evans) went to Hughesovka about 1890-1891. Their first child, Beatrice, was born in Hughesovka in September 1891 and baptised in July 1892. Anne Fuell subsequently returned to Cardiff with Beatrice, to give birth to their second child, Olga. While she was in Cardiff William George Fuell died of cholera, and Anne never returned to Hughesovka. She later married George Fletcher and ran a large grocery business in Aberdare.
