Background | John William (Willie) Jones of Hengoed and Lancashire went out to Hughesovka in 1906 as Colliery Engineer to the 14 collieries of the New Russia Company. His wife, Ina, joined him there in 1907, but ill health forced her to return to Britain in the following year. William Jones remained with the Company for some years until he returned to Coedely.
