Background | George Wiskin, born Suffolk, met John Hughes in Russia and worked for him at Hughesovka. His grandson, Frederick James Job, was born in Hughesovka (1886) and married a local woman. Frederick did not leave in 1917 with the rest of the British community but stayed with his wife, and their son, Victor, was born in October 1917. Another son, Eugene, was born in 1919, and a daughter, Larissa, in 1924. Their relatives in Britain lost touch with the family in the 1940s, until a newspaper in Donetsk traced them, on behalf of the Glamorgan Record Office.
