Background | Before a Protestant church was established at Hughesovka many of the settlement’s British families had their children baptised by the minister of the Presbyterian church at Odessa, the Rev Thomas Grieve Clark. The station at Odessa operated from 1865 to 1886, and Mr Clark provided a Protestant ministry to Anglican communities at Hughesovka, Sebastopol and Alexandrovka, as well as running the chapel and a Sailors Home in Odessa |
